1961 MARX #5995 DISNEYLAND PLAY SET COMPLETE, UNPLAYED WITH CONTENTS

Marx #5995 DISNEYLAND Play Set made exclusively for Sears and sold only one year;1961.. It was featured in a full page in the 1961 Sears Christmas Wish Book.This Play Set is very large - the box alone is approx 32"x28"x 10". This Marx #5995 Disneyland set required many unique items (and molds) used only in this set. All original contents are complete and the HP Items unbroken except for a plastic "pin" atop the Carousel's lower spinner platter ( still fits together fine as the 4 horse poles insert into 8 holes connecting the top and bottom).The 2 large vacuform plastic pieces (no cracks) depict the Matterhorn Mountain Ride w Autopia (1) and Adventureland with Frontierland (2). These pieces are placed on two very large play-mats which are to be connected by tape (unused tape roll!). Some of the HP pieces that are frequently found broken are in excellent shape including the Dumbo ride, Carousel (except for pin), Flying Saucer Launcher w all 3 Saucers, miniature horses, and the 3 Flags atop buildings.... and the keel boat flag. There are 30 figures in matching flat cream include wild animals, Disneyland character figures and others including Marshal Dillion and Miss Kitty . The 5-piece "March of the Wooden Soldier's " Artillery Train connects together. All vehicle wheels are applied and have snug axle fit and roll freely ie: the bobsled rolls fast down Matterhorn. Most of the 25 different buildings are numbered and molded in attractive flat colors of blue, brown, gray and yellow; and are numbered on back which correlate to Play mat numbers for easy placement; several have signs I.e. "Penney Arcade, Crystal Palace, Wells Fargo Stage, SunKist" etc. The foot long, 2 piece Tomorrowland building snaps together. There are eight -4 Tree Rows which could be separated (32 trees) and in-fact the 4 "swamp trees" are separate from the Palm/ banana rows. All SP items have pliable plastic. All original bags (some tears, 4 large bags are largely torn. The 4-page Instructions (P-1401) and 2 large playmates look unused. . Sturdy Box with no repairs, inside of box excellent w original dividers. Outside box has some shelf ware, discoloration, minor water marks. - 2 staple pull hole damage and some warpage at the top edge of front side of box. This very large play set is a rare find in such excellent condition.
