Lu-Hawk Hydraulic Cable Crimper and Swage Tool. Great for Crimping Battery Lugs, Large Electric Cables or Swaging Stainless Steel Cable/Rope.
Can crimp any wire from 14 gauge to 00 gauge. Any heavy gauge electrical wire lug, connector, or terminal that needs crimping this will get the job done.
Great to swage stainless steel wire/rope up to 1/8th inch. Although our test show it will crimp 3/16th we do not warranty it for use on 3/16th but we always accept returns in the first 45 days. Easily make a wire rail fence around the deck, yard, or install new rigging in your boat. Anytime you're installing new steel cable this does the job with less effort.
Hydraulic tools allow for way more force from a much smaller package. It requires a 36" mechanical crimper/swage tool to compare to the force this tool generates. Imagine trying to crimp a battery terminal under the hood with one of those. Trust us this is better.
Our kit includes 8 different size die heads, these can be adjusted 180° to help accommodate tight spaces. Please note this tool requires very little effort to crimp. During our testing we had a lot of over-crimping. It should never feel like the crimp has to be forced. Especially important on the 00 electric or the 3/16th stainless.
-We were looking for a versatile tool that can be used under the hood, in an electrical box, or in an attic/crawl space. Yet it had to have enough force to be useful in a variety of applications. We would caution you to avoid the larger size unless absolutely necessary for your job. It weighs about twice as much and on the end of the much larger handles it is exhausting to use, if you can even get it in the right position. -When we decide to sell a tool it is because it would be a great addition to any DIY'ers garage. We would love to help you out. -There are thousands of different terminals, railing connectors, lugs, cable swage crimps, and countless other items that you will be able to use this tool on, and they come in all different sizes and thicknesses. That is why it is very important to select the right size die for the job and to not force the crimp. It will create a bad crimp and constant abuse will probably damage the tool. Just imagine using a hydraulic bottle jack, if you're forcing it something is going wrong. -If you're using this to swage cable wire make sure to follow proper guideline and use the correct number of crimps for size of wire and functional load. -Constant over crimping will eventually damage the hydraulics. That being the first thing that will break due to misuse we have included a rebuild kit just in case.
