Cincinnati, Ohio,
early 20th century vintage
Lenox Soap
wood crate advertising box,
featuring black ink stamped sidewall graphic iconography on two long and one short sidewalls, early nailed corners and a wood plank floor. The black ink is original and still largely saturated and opaque. The wood surfaces haven't been lacquered or varnished and have a matte, dry finish. There's only the slightest bit of wood loss along the top right corner of one of the long wooden sidewalls. This amounts to what would be best described as a sliver of wood and not a chunk. The wood has naturally aged patina and its wood cover was pried off with a crow bar. The damage to the long sidewall most likely occurred when the wood box crate was initially opened. One long sidewall has great graphics with a hand holding a bar of
Lenox soap.
The short sidewall has the
Proctor and Gamble
crescent moon hallmark stamped on it. Incredibly well-preserved
.
Wonderful.

Good to Very Good overall vintage condition.
