Around 1996, I walked into a licensed Disney gallery (Flicks of Hollywood in Bloomingdale, IL...no longer in business) and saw this gorgeous chair all by itself in a corner. I couldn't take my eyes off of it! I had never seen anything like it, and they only had
ONE
. It was like this amazing piece of art that was practical and so much fun to own. I bought it without blinking an eye even though it was expensive (!) and have loved it ever since all these years in a pet-free, smoke-free, child-free, healthy household of 1 person. The metal is like a painted, brushed golden-brownish color that seems to mysteriously change with the light. It's also quite comfy! Please use ebay's magnifying option on your PC to examine it more closely. Contact me with any questions or if you need more measurements or photos.
approx 35" high, floor to top of chair
approx 15.5" wide (metal back part)
seat: approx 17.5 diameter
Please note: I had it reupholstered to match another piece in my office.
This is NOT the original fabric
. If you don't care for what I chose, consider replacing it with a professional upholsterer. The "best part" of the chair is, of course, the unique, show-stopping metal Mickey ears cut out. In my case, I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and chose that material, then brought it and the chair to the company to change out the fabric. I loved this fabric because it reminded me of Beauty and Beast...it has a "French feel" to it (I think it's French cursive in the pattern) and the musical notes remind me of Belle (my favorite princess) singing!
This chair is extremely versatile...quiet and understated, yet shows your love for Disney when you see the ears. It's sure to be a one-of-a-kind addition to any "Disney home." I'm (a bit sadly) ready to part with it because it no longer matches the new décor in my office. I'm hoping it finds a good home where it will be cherished just as I treasured it all these years because it's just so special.
Thanks for looking! I hope you'll view my other listings for more Disney items and other fun stuff, including a much larger lounge chair and ottoman covered in "sketchbook" Mickeys purchased from the Contemporary Resort in WDW.
